suddenly

I am not really sure where to start. Cortney got laid off (permanently) today...not only did he get the axe but also his boss and the main mechanic. The golf course owner thinks it would be a lot cheaper if he got rid of them and tried to do the job himself. I was reluctant whether or not I should even post about this but...heck this is the story of my life and you would think something this big would make the story. This all came so far out of left field...that I still feel like I can't breathe. Cortney and I are both reeling and don't even know where to start. I feel a little like this will most likely take us out of Utah though. We'll see. I know we will be okay. I am worrying about the little things, like keeping Oliver in school...it is kinda expensive...and we were already sacrificing for him to go. I know that should be the least of my worries but for some reason...that is the thing that makes my eyes well up. Cortney said we could tell him that school is almost over for the year. Hahaa. Cortney just said "well...I can get rid of a lot of clothes now that I am not working there (all of his multi-seasonal early morning coverall's and such)". I am sad for him. He loved his job...he put his blood sweat and tears into that place...for five years. It really was a labor of love. We have always had problems with the owner (ethics wise) but it was worth looking over. He says that he is sad because they are taking away his best friends....he loves loves loves the guys he works with.
The best part is they waited until the winter when they didn't need them as much any more...and also the winter is the hardest time for them to find work. What golf courses do you know that hire right before the slow season??

So now...I am sorry for the pity party. I write this because most people that read this love me and would want to know. Plus...if there is anyone out there that has any ideas or knows of any jobs around...let us know. Or maybe if there is someone out there that would like to buy a house in Orem Utah...hahahaa...no seriously.

I love my family. I am so sorry that Cortney has to go through this. But I know that everything will be okay. This isn't really anything in the grand scheme of things.
How beautiful...right?

Ahhh I can barely look at the logo on the flag without wanting to break someone's neck....breathe, Ashley, Breathe.

On another note. Today was my last dr's appointment. It went well. So strange for it all to be over. I was getting pretty teary eyed as I left the hospital. It was a big part of my life for the past two years. No pills for me to take tonight. I am down to four on Fridays. WISH ME LUCK!

Sheesh I am sorry this is depressing.

Oh Courtney so sorry to hear this, Hey this is your cousin Traci Boice (Rugg now) Hey my husband just recently lost his job and we had to scrounge for everything to survive for a month, it was very hard, we still are receiving food stamps. He found a job through his cousins real estate office cleaning repo homes and doing lawns. The money is there and I still am able to stay home with our little one. I know the feeling I had to give up alot and even had to let my car get repoed. But we are getting better slowly, you just have to hold your husband and love him and have faith. Their are really no jobs right now that is why we will just stay put for now. Well keep in touch I read your blog often, Things will get better.

Take Care

It's CRAZY, SHOCKING, UNBELIEVEABLE - every adj you can think of! Just SO YOU KNOW, your family is all notified and ready to help in any way we can. Your name will be in the temple first thing in the a.m. - Ash, for your health and well being, Cort, for your new job . . . job hunting. Remember the words of GRIF AND KATRINA (they will be touch in the morning with some information for you). I (Grandma) have just taken on MY NEW JOB of keeping Oli in school - you don't have to worry about that for 'one second' - just give me the details and $$ will be in your PayPal as soon as you need it! Our 'little sweetie' will be the SMARTEST KID in class ! ! ! ! That's my promise to you.

I have a calm and wonderful feeling that ALL WILL BE WELL - I'm feeling that Heavenly Father has a 'new assignment' for your family and it will just be a matter of time to find out exactly what it is.

I have to agree with the comment above . . . let's go trap some MONSTER BEAVERS and let them loose, we have an abundance of squirrels here (we're hauling them to the park constantly) - we'll just haul them a little further south - we can reek some havic (sp) down that way ! ! ! !

God bless you - "All will be well"
Hugs and smuches xoxoxoxox

Ash, I've got my ears open for any work,Todd does too. This sucks, I'll admit, in my prayers last night I was praying for selfish reasons-I don't want you guys to move out of here- we want to help you in any way. Maybe, I should start by paying Cort for my photo sesstions!!!!

Oh Ash. My heart goes out to you. You are definitely being prayed for. If I can help in *any* way at all....please let me. I will keep my eyes and ears open for anything. Heavenly Father will take care of you. He always has, and He will continue to do so.

You are in our prayers...it's good to blog this, you never know the network that is working for you right now. You gotta tell everyone you know, you never know who is in need of someone like Courtney to work for them. We've had family members in the same situation. You are right, it will all work out. Stay positive.

Crisdee said...

I'm positive everything will work out, you have so many people praying for you, the Lord never leaves us alone on trial times, You'll see how things happen for a reason and you'll see that better things are going to happen for you. I'm so sorry though you are going through this, our love to you and your family, you are in our prayers.

Cortney does landscaping right? Bo has an Uncle in St. George who owns his own company doing stuff like that. He has a very well off business. He's done golf courses, hospitals. If that is what Cortney does and is interested, let us know, we can ask Bo's uncle.

The word BEAVER came to my mind as well. Another infestation sounds in order. I'm so sorry, Ash. I know that sounds so trite, but my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I know Colorado isn't probably where you would want to relocate, but I'll keep my ears open. Just in case. Love you!

Ash, I'm so sorry. I started reading your post, and totally felt blindsided too. It makes me want to swear at the owner and make mean gestures. Grrr. Anyway, I know that Cort will be fine and I am praying that he gets a job somewhere close to us. I miss you.
