A total ECLIPSE of the heart.

Seriously.

Cali and I woke up this morning at 4:45 so that we could make it to a 6:00 showing (in Lehi) of Eclipse.

I am not going to act too cool...pretend that I am not obsessed...I am putting all of my pride away...because let me tell you...

I absolutely LOVED the movie. With in the first 5 minutes I knew that this movie was going to BLOW away the other two....and I was oh so right.

Cali and I were acting like a bunch of school girls. We were so nervous and giddy the whole way to the theater. It was so nice the way we did it...no lines, no stress, no crowd.

We sat in our seats and saw some people with an eclipse popcorn bucket...we had to have one...even if it was, cough, 8 bucks. Worth every penny. Cali got the bucket I got a cup...we really wished we had t-shirts, but didn't have the time.

It was a great time and so wonderful to get away. Of course I didn't sleep all night in anticipation but it was well worth it. Thanks Cali...I had a great time.

In the car minutes before going inside.

We asked an employee to snap a picture of us with the poster (I am sure he gets this non stop)...It looks like Edward might have his eye on me...hahaa.

we stopped at Kneaders on the way home for a little breakfast. It is amazing what you can get done if you don't get any sleep.

What a great day. I am so happy. (silly I know, but I don't care) Cali and I could NOT stop grinning.

p.s.

My baby is sick. I am leaving to LA to see my sissy sam and my mom tomorrow, I was going to take the baby with me but now I can't. How can I leave a face that looks like this?? Luckily I am flying out of Idaho falls...so Cortney will have help from my mom and dad in law...I feel bad for them...because there is stuff he still can't do, especially with Henry. So Bob and Berta...thanks in advance for all your help. I can't believe he got sick right before I am leaving.

Henry Clapping

Just so I can remember...

Sorry for the weird angle on this camera shot...Henry wouldn't do it if he could see the camera.
Oh...isn't his cleavage to die for??

I think I need to complain for a second...

First off...

This last week we moved Henry out of our Closet and into the boys room, then we moved the boys upstairs into the guest bedroom. It has been awesome. I love how I can just put clothes away and do laundry. :)

Also Henry started holding his own bottle. Man, what a difference that little thing makes in my life. I love it.

Henry has also been clapping. Not only that but you can clap and then he does it back. Cali couldn't believe it...and ever since has had a one track mind of trying to get Fiona to clap...what can I say he is just advanced. Hahaaa.

The last two nights however I have been up with him all night. Seriously. Last night I was so desperate I even tried to sleep on the bottom bunk of the bunk beds with him next to me. He was so confused and didn't even know what to make of sleeping by mama so he wasn't having it. Talk about hard.

Then our car broke down.

And to top it all off Cortney backed into a BMW at work today. Nothing big...but another insurance claim to deal with.

Put all of those things together with the fact that I am covered in baby snot and my hair has never looked worse...makes for a pretty miserable day. I keep climbing into bed to try and pretend non of this is happening.

My kids are amazed that I am letting them build forts and make a huge mess...but I am just too tired to deal with it so lucky them.

Oh...and I mowed the lawn today...the first time I have ever ever mowed a lawn, period. I almost threw up. I had to google how to start the thing. HAhhahaa. It looks...amazing...well for a first timer. I would say it looks like an 8 year old did it. It is amazing how much I miss my little worker Cortney. I am not made to do all of this alone. :) Just kidding I am a strong and independent woman (repeat over and over).

Now I am going to jump in the shower...I think that will cure all my problems (well at least the hair and the snot problems).

hens just might be famous

I love this picture even though it was taken with a phone. Henry looks so happy...this is his first time riding on shoulders. My arms were getting so tired and Cortney can't hold him for long.

Cali always tells me Henry looks like the Captain from Wall-e...and the outfit he is wearing in the picture of him on my shoulders is exactly the same as the captain's...
But last night at our ward party someone said he looks just like augustus kloop from charlie and the chocolate factory...
hahaa I think she might be right...

last Sunday....two days after I took Henry to get his blood drawn he stood up...I think he realized it was getting serious and if he didn't stand up soon he would have to get a lot more painful testing done. hahaa....typical. He still isn't standing very well but better then before.

sammy poo

My sister had a baby girl today. She was at the hospital for like forty hours before the baby came...I have been thinking of her non stop. I can't wait to see her little one...
It is so hard to live so far away. All day I wanted to just see how she was. CONGRATS sam.

Oliver turns 7

Another year has passed and Oliver has turned 7. It amazes me how fast time flies once you have children. A blink of an eye. He was obsessed with not having a party or any presents...he just wanted 50 dollars instead. Oliver is a collector. He loves to collect anything he can, and money is one of those things. He isn't even saving for anything. He just wants to be rich. I worry about him walking around so loaded. It felt totally weird to convince my child to get presents and have a party. Usually I would just say...pay the boy, save yourself some trouble. But, I never buy my kids presents and HOW can you just not have any party...this time I think making him have presents was the right way to go.

He begged me to be able to open his presents the first second he woke up. I obliged...although this isn't usually how we do it. He had asked for clothes this year (weird I know), and he also got a video game, an erector set (from aha), some dried fruit (my 7 year old the grown up), Tech decks and clothes (from bob and berta) and cash from my parents. He loved every second of it.

Some things about Oliver right now...
Favorite tv show-SpongeBob
Favorite food- Rasin Oatmeal cookies, Cereal, Fried bananas
Favorite color-Purple, blue and black
Favorite thing to do- play with cousins

How would it be a birthday celebration without some cute pictures of Henry??

He makes this face all the time.

I found this bow and couldn't resist...
I wonder if I will ever have a daughter.

Oliver doesn't like frosting...so I always have to make something other then the usual cupcakes. I made his favorite strawberry shortcake.

We decided to take the boys to play some laser tag for Oliver's birthday, we went to liberty land in Lehi which is now Trafalga...we were the ONLY people there. It was crazy. Thursdays all of their attractions are 3 dollars...so we really lucked out.

Cortney and Henry while we were waiting (phone picture), doesn't Cort look like he is doing so good. He is doing so much better...better every day. He is still really sore but he does 3 hours of physical therapy twice a week. That is helping. I think nights are still really hard for him but he seems almost normal.

These next pictures were taken with the video camera in a DARK room but I wanted to include them because someday the boys will look back on these and think, that was so fun.

Oli..the birthday boy.

The boys getting the low down of the game...Jack fell last night and got 8 staples in his head...thus the bandage. Hahaa....can you believe that happened while Cali is a camp??

Ty...he won every time.

Rob kept saying to the laser tag employee that was playing with them, "I am just a kid I am only 4 years old"...then he would say that the guy wouldn't say anything...he would just shoot him. hahaa
He was so sweaty.

This picture is the worst because it was pitch black...Jack loved it and kept wanting to know who won.

The boys played teams...Oliver and Ty vs. Rob and Jack. It was a close race. And a great day.

two things

Two things have happened today that have made me so happy. (My kids have been driving me crazy, fighting non stop...I need them to be in school).

First on the way to the store some current hip hop/pop song was on the radio and I could see Rob perfectly in my rearview mirror totally lip syncing and dancing...he was so serious. And because I had sunglasses on I was able to watch him the whole song...and he didn't notice. It was awesome.

Then Oliver came and told me that Henry had two boogers that looked like the birds in cukoo clocks. Every time he would breath the would come in and out of his nose. I went and looked and that is exactly what it looked like. So funny.

Cali is at girls camp and I am watching her five kids this afternoon. Wish me luck. Haha.

i have been meaning to post these forever

When my in laws were here they kept talking the boys to the skate park. The boys thought it was the best thing ever.

I love to see this one of my boys talking to each other.

Rob tired.

Oliver sweaty...he got his head shaved right after this.

Rob would not wear his helmet...it was blue and silver. He kept saying this isn't my helmet...my helmet is black and has fire on it. Um...we don't have a helmet like that. So I finally took some black spray paint and painted his blue helmet black...he loves it now.

Oli catching some air.

Rob tired again.

What a fun grandpa. My kids loved having them here.

These pictures were taken by my mom in law by the way.

While my in laws were here they helped me out SOOOO much. Bob was going non stop. One night he gave my boys a quick shave. I thought it was the cutest thing ever.
My two Bobs.
These two are hilarious together. Bob said Rob said to him "you're not the boss of me." To which Bob responded "you better wake up because I am the boss of you." I love it.
How cute right?
This is so typical of my children.

It was great having my in laws here. Really I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. It was such a a relief to have them here...plus you should have seen how much laundry my mother in law folded while I was at the hospital with Cortney. Wow...it was a lot.

It was amazing how much my friends and family stepped in to help us. I had meals brought in...my kids watched...my bathroom cleaned...and cookies brought over. I had so much going on that it really helped out so much.

It really has shown me that I need to be better at helping people. I am willing to do anything that anyone asks me....really I am...but I am not the best about doing things without being asked. It is amazing how something as simple as bringing a stack of paper plates to someone...makes such a difference...helps so much. So to all of you that helped me out...thank you, thank you, thank you.

Finally a shower.

Monday Cortney finally got a shower...he was so happy to finally wash his body odor down the drain. I love how out of it he looks in this picture.

Can you see the bruising around his scar. Poor baby.
Oh and ladies I know it must be hard to resist Cortney with his shirt off like this...but he is taken.

I can't wait until Cortney recovers enough to hold Henry...until then Hens and I are best buds.

Paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork.

A friend of my brother-in-law and someone that reads my blog sent us some flowers...
Seriously these flowers are gorgeous. I have never seen flowers so pretty...of course I don't have a lot of flower experience but these are amazing.

Isn't that the nicest thing ever?? I now think every sick person should have flowers.

Oremfest

I am trying so hard to get caught up but it seems I am buried under insurance paperwork, and doctors appointments.

Last Friday was Orem's Summerfest...lovingly called Oremfest around these parts (cali's house and mine that is). It is one of our most beloved traditions here. There has never been a year that we haven't gone. Cali missed it one year because she was in the hospital having Carolina but that didn't stop her husband and kids from going.

When the accident first happened I was so out of it...not connected to the outside world at all. Cali called to remind me that oremfest was coming...and that we were going. I didn't even want to go that will tell you how overwhelmed I was with Cortney's problems. I LOVE a carnival. Well I finally decided I should go...that we should get out of the house and let Cortney rest. I am glad I went even though I felt kinda guilty and worried about Cort the whole time.

Oliver's school does free school lunch for kids under 18 for the month of June...the boys and I love walking over with our neighbors. I talked Cali into coming with us before we went to Oremfest...saved us so much money, fair food is expensive. The kids loved it.

After lunch we made our way over to the fair...it was nice and NOT crowded...just how we like it. We bought up some tickets and tried to cram as much oremfest as we could into as little time as possible. It was FREEZING...seriously we were all drenched and it was 50 degrees out.

Henry and Fiona...they stayed like this the whole time...they didn't even get to peek out once...it was way too cold.

I shared this delish plate of fries with the kids...oh they were so good. I would love a plate right this minute. Cali wasn't eating any carbs so I felt so bad eating this in front of her. No wonder I can't get into my pre-pregnancy clothes. haha

Grace and Carolina on the carousel. Carolina was in HEAVEN...that girl was smiling so big. All of the kids loved this ride.

Ty and Oli...it is interesting because lately Oliver and Tyson are hanging out and Rob and Jack are hanging out. Rob wants so bad to be one of the big boys...instead of one of the little girls.

I love seeing all of our kids on a ride together.

Jack and Rob...at this point it was raining SOOO hard. We had had enough...we ran to the cars as fast as you can with 8 kids in tow.

Cali and her crew.

Me with mine...I was having a real time getting ready for the day since Cortney's accident. In fact today 11 days later was the first time I have actually gotten ready. Phew...I think that is a good sign.

Just a cute picture of Henry rolling around. He loves paper and will roll all the way across the room to find some.

Saturday my kids spent most of the day at my neighbor's house. They were so nice to have the kids over...and it REALLY helped me out. My kids have probably been the hardest part of the whole accident thing. It was really hard having them here and having Cortney trying to rest...they just don't get it. The weather was so horrible too that they were going crazy all cooped up in the house. They had so much fun over at Kempton's house and were playing in the rain...then they watched a movie. They even had popcorn...although Rob told Sarah "this has no flavor"...how embarrassing right?

Anyways Cali and I had set out blankets to go to the parade but we decided it was just too cold. So I told Sarah where our blankets were and she said she would pick them up for me and use the spot. When my kids found out that the neighbors were going to the parade and we weren't Rob said to me "why do you hate us??". After a lot of begging and pleading I decided to brave it and take all three kids to the parade alone. I quickly got Henry dressed in warm clothes and made my way over to park for the parade...I seriously had to park like a mile away...and I was carrying 22 lb Henry on my back...I begged the kids to go for ice cream instead but they weren't buy it.

Luckily we made it to the parade...and by the time we got there it was half over. Hooray, I got to be the best mom ever...and I didn't have to stay forever. They kids loved it...even Henry was good even though it was WAY past his bed time.
I just love how expressive my babies are...hahaa

The boys with their friends trying to get candy.

Me with my neighbors...I love them.
Me and Henry.

The parade was great...and I was actually glad to be out of the house. Afterwards we went to eat but all of the lines for the fair food were way too long for me to wait in, especially since henry was on my back and at this point my back was nearly broken in half. So we got in the car and we headed to SKIPPER'S. I love skippers. Seriously. We shared an order of 4 fish sticks with fries...and an order of 12 hushpuppies. The boys gobbled it right up. There is something so cute about seeing your little boys putting malt vinegar on everything and eating it right up. They loved it. Then we went out to the parking lot and watched the whole firework show. It was even better then watching it in the park because it wasn't crowded and our car was right there so we got home in no time. It was a great little moment for me with my three boys.

I also wanted to post for my own record that I finally talked to Henry's doctor about him not bearing any weight on his legs. The doctor had me go over to the Hospital and have some blood drawn on my poor little baby. They had to strap him down to a little bed and put a rubber band around his chubby little arm. I felt so sad for him. But the lab tech was so fast and Henry was so tough...it was over in no time. I was pretty proud of my little baby. I am sure everything is going to be just fine...but I am relieved to be able get started on checking things out...just for peace of mind. The doctor gave me the number of the pediatric neurologist at Primary Children's and I will make an appointment up there in a little while. I am sure my mother will be so relieved.
