bad day

Rob snuck a pen to school today (i had already told him he couldn't take it), then he wouldn't put it away when his teacher asked, then he threatened someone with it. The teacher took the pen away. Then Rob ran away from recess. It took two teachers a long time to find him. He was in the front of the school by the flag pole. When I got to school a little boy told me Rob was being naughty at school. Yikes. I had to talk to the teacher and she told me everything. Then he laid down on the ground and bawled. He wouldn't get up or go to the car. I had to carry him out (yes all 45 lbs of him kicking and crying...).

I hate this part of parenting.

I can hear him in his room crying over and over

"I just wanted my pen. It is just a pen! I'm just having the worst day ever!" (plus he tried to jump out the window of his room to escape!!)

Of course I grounded him from the pen (it is the cool kind that does 4 colors you just pick which color)...and from TV.

I just wish I could make him be good.

Last night was parent teacher conference. They told me he had been really good so far. Because of the good review I bought the pen for him at the book fair. Ironic, isn't it.

Oh my word. I can't believe he tried to escape out the window. I hope tomorrow goes better for you him and YOU.

I do not look forward to days like that...

but maybe in future you can laugh about it...I mean the escape out the window, and the threatening someone with the pen, does have a humorous ring to it?

You'll never be able to make him be good. But he'll learn how you want him to behave. Give it six months and read this post again, it'll be funny then. You might want to nail his window shut in the meantime, though. Snicker.

Sorry Ash, I do have to laugh a little. It's so much funnier when its not your own. Trust me we have all had those days with our kids. The joys! He is so cute.

Oh, your day sounds an awful lot like the one I'm having with my boy right now. Sure it has nothing to do with a pen or school, but I swear I'm about ready to lock Carter in his room for FOREVER. He's already had 2 breakdowns similar to Rob's.
so not cool.

Love the irony of the pen and you buying it for him because of him being good.

Poor kid. I'm sure he just wanted to show off his "cool" pen, and spewed out a threat all in the name of his awesome pen to the kid who only wanted to get his paws on it.

Oh Ash.

I am so sorry. Crap like that is what gives mothers gray hair.

Hang in there Sis.

I read this earlier today BUT had to come back and give you some COMFORT! Ohhhhhh, he's perfectly adorable and he'll be fine. Such DRAMA at that age - just have to look at it from his perspective and not a grown ups! That was pretty traumatic for him - he'll be fine BUT, thanks to your DEAR HUSBAND, I earned every single gray hair that I own . . . .Grif contributed somewhat as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! . . . oh, let's not forget Whitney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
