shock to the heart

So I called the cardiologist yesterday to schedule Theo's appointment.  They said they couldn't get me in until feb 7th.  I told them my doctor wanted me to come in sooner.  They called my doctor and then called me back and scheduled for me to come in this morning at 8:30.  My doctor was concerned that the murmur wasn't a "normal" sounding murmur and wanted them to see me right away.  Especially since he hadn't heard the murmur before. They said that the appointment would last 3 hours so to come prepared for that.  It was pretty scary going in I am not gonna lie.  I didn't know what to expect, but I knew I would be able to handle it.  No way this baby was healed to have serious heart problems.

My mom came with me for a little bit of the appointment (they had a lunch in salt lake today).  It was nice having her there.

First they hooked him up to an EKG.  Everything looked good.  He hated when they took off the stickers.

After the EKG he had and echocardiogram.  Which was basically an ultrasound of the heart.  It lasted over one hour.  Little Theo was good and slept most of the time.

They have to hold still to get the images they need.  I was amazed at how good he was.

After a LONG nerve wracking 3 hours the doctor came in and told me his heart looked normal.  NORMAL.  Hallelujah.  He does have a small hole in his heart but it is common for a baby his age to have that and it will most likely close on its own.

Theo is seriously amazing.  He passes EVERY test with flying colors.  I swear he is going to be a prophet someday.  Cali says he will probably get a 1600 on his SAT's.  hahaha.  What a good baby.  I was so relieved.

AT FIRST SIGHT those wires freaked me out! That DOES look scary and that would have been nerve-racking. I think Heavenly Father is walking every step of the way with this little one! I'm SO THRILLED all is well with his little heart - he's grown so big since Christmas - he's doing so well. Thanks for the great update and hope (weather-permitting) we'll see you soooooooon! Hugs.

Thrilled for you, Ashley and Cort. That Theo is quite the little warrior.

I would freak out if I had to face all the uncertainties you've faced with this baby. You are a strong mama, Ash! I guess that's where tiny Theo gets his strength! So glad he's okay!

Yay Theo! Yup, you are one tough mamma! Our 1st had a murmer that took a couple of months to close up; I remember the Dr said to try not to stimulate her too much and that was hard. Oh, and if the acne is still an issue, try Aveeno eczema therapy lotion. We tried every other organic thing and finally I tried that and it worked like a charm in just one day! Glad all is well, we've been thinking of you guys!
